UPDATES for 2013. I am posting them here for those that do not have the patience to read to the end of the ad.Current Weekly rates for our popular do-it-yourself room with 1 King bed is now $250. Upstairs doubles ($275). All downstairs rooms ($300).For people that have inquired about a monthly rate, we are just offering discounts when you prepay and weeks beyond 4.Example: If this coming Tuesday will be your fourth week staying with us, as long as payment is made by 5pm on Monday, there will be a prepayment discount that reduces the rate from $250 to $200. This is done in lieu of an actual 'monthly rate'.NO PETS AT ALL FOR THE TIME BEING. Not even fish. Sorry. For pictures, atmosphere, and to become a fan: http://www.facebook.com/3800hotel Haven't found a permanent place yet? New to town and need to learn a bit about the city first? Need to move out of one place but the new place isn't ready yet? In town for a temporary job assignment? Visiting for a week and don't want to pay $80/night? and the always crappy.....bad breakup? The Orleans Courtyard Inn is a small hotel in the heart of Metairie that specializes in weekly rates for these situations. Our popular $224/wk 'no frills' rate is a bare bones rate that allows the guest to only pay for what they need. The $250 AFTER TAX and covers everything inside the standard upstairs hotel room (King bed, desk, dresser, TV with 70 channels of cable, small fridge, microwave, closet, and private shower room). All other services that may be included in a typical hotel such as housekeeping, internet, drop off laundry, grocery service, etc. is priced separately because most people would rather not pay for it if they don't need it. We usually get turned down on everything except wireless internet for $5/wk. $255 per week for room&wireless is by far our most common rate. The guests just keep up with everything else as if it was their own little apartment. More pictures of the place are available on the Facebook page. It is the only page that we keep up with as many other websites had outdated photos and information on the place. I need to take a new one of the hotel front since the construction is done, but it actually looks even better now. There will also be pictures of our larger double-bedded upstairs rooms ($275) and also our deluxe, over-sized downstairs rooms ($300). There is an outdoor pool, courtyard, and grilling area for cooking and congregating that lends itself well for guests to socialize with each other after work. Everyone is usually staying for a while so we might as well get to know each other and get rid of the trouble makers. Most guests here are out of the door to work by 5am-7am so we place a top priority on issues that prevent a good night sleep like late night partying, constant domestic disputes, and rooms with constant traffic all hours of the day and night. You people are not welcome. Please feel free to stop by anytime to get a feel for the place and to talk to some of the guests that stay here. We have an open door policy on that. As far as getting a room, please do not just show up on my door step with all your possessions. Our rates keep us booked up almost constantly and it would be a good idea to give me at least a few days notice if not a whole week to plan for your arrival. Some weeks, there are plenty departures and some weeks, nobody leaves. We don't charge any kind of downpayment for holding a room for you so there is no reason not to call ahead. If you find something else, just give us a courtesy call so we can let someone else know that a room as opened up. All we ask is that the day before you come, you call us AGAIN to reconfirm your needs and to declare an expected arrival time. Some people will be here before noon, others will get here late. We just need to know what is going on so that we do not think you are a 'no show' and then rent the room out to someone waiting for it. If you get a flat tire, miss your flight, have to go into work before coming to the hotel, just call to let us know and we'll wait up for you. I personally find it downright inconsiderate that people know they will not need a room, but won't make a 5second phone call to release it to someone who really does need it. My apologies for the long ad, but the guests needs to be a good fit for the hotel just as much as the hotel needs to be a good fit for the guests. Having misguided or unrealistic expectations on either side of business or personal relationships is bad for everyone. Give us a call sometime!! 504-383-3801 And if we don't answer, please leave a message of your time frame for a room. I try to take time with every caller to assess needs so some calls might go over 5minutes. If it is going to take them 15minutes to get to work, but an hour and a half to get back because of traffic or road construction, I want to let them know. If they rely on public transportation, I want to make sure that the buses and streetcars are going to run on a schedule that gets them to work on time. It is just as easy to rent to a guest that will be happy here as to one that will be miserable, so I try to check these things on the initial phone call. Ok, Call us!!! 504-383-3801 3800 Hessmer Ave. (google map) (yahoo map) Location: Metairie - Causeway
